We'll confess. We were as excited as the next person when we got a mention in a recent edition of the NT News.
But what we didn't like were the haughty comments attributed the the health department's senior HR director Raelene Burke. To us it smacked of sour grapes.
Because to be perfectly honest, we thought she would have been grateful to see the results of the first ever independent bullying survey ever undertaken. And of course after our survey we followed it up with another one. And the results were just as staggeringly atrocious. In total the only truly independent surveys examining the bullying culture that plainly exists in the health department, were undertaken by the mister men and have surveyed 180 employees. And, we never even sent in an invoice.
That's 180 more than the health department has.
Here are a couple of links to our results which are shocking:

And let's remind Burke that VW have just been destroyed on the basis of a study that examined the emissions of just two diesel cars in the USA out of a total of 500,000 VW diesel cars there.
In the NT News article which incidentally we publish in full below, under the sub heading 'bully culture' the health department's own statistics are published. According to them just the three bullying complaints were upheld.
But, we know different. That figure is utter bollocks. Who are they trying to kid?
We know, because our readership have written and told us, that most of them dare not go to the organisation to report bullying. It leaves them wide open to reprisal action and unfortunately, the action frequently comes from ,,,,, the human resources department itself.
We know as well because we have records. At last count, we hold details of 71 ongoing bullying situations.
In other words, what they do is when someone makes a complaint, in a classic HR tactic it seems to be to flip it and accuse the accuser. Or, if its made against a manager, it is never upheld. That is, of course, if they ever bother to investigate it all. As another tactic is just to ignore it.
We found it hilarious that Burke appeared to complain that we might deny the bully natural justice or make false allegations. Come off it. The health department deny natural justice to the people they bully as a matter of course. They have been doing that for years. And someone should write a book on false allegations in the health department. Maybe they have already.
It's just another example of the double standards that apply to the managers like Burke and the different standard for the rest of us.
So what are the clinicians doing if they are not making bullying complaints?
Scroll down and we'll tell you.
Well, it looks like, judging by this extraordinary post on a clinician facebook page and copied below, that they are voting with their feet.
When you read it (published last week), it just gives a sense of how messed up and broken the health department is.
And reading between the lines, it's as we have called it; the bullies are the managers almost every time.
And of course, now that Elferink has shown his true bullying colours and pinned them to the mast of the other bigots in government, we'd like to know; are we all allowed to go around telling our female colleagues that we'd like to slap them and bang our desks when they speak without our permission?
So we'd like to ask Ms Burke, Is an 'Elferink Defence' now admissable? Will it get people off?
Of course in the NT health department you don't get the opportunity to so much as offer a defence.
But we must ask, does 'doing an Elferink' equate to a get out of jail free card?
Most probably it does and always has. Depending of course, on who you are.
Ask the employee who attacked two female nurses, smashed up the pharmacy and got away with it. The nurses never returned to work. He received no sanction at all. He was back at work the next day.

bad publicity? fancy that. |
In the meantime, welcome everyone to the blog that holds the bullies in the management to account. Raelene Burke and her useless HR Department won't so the mister men will have to do it instead.
Fiona Roche? Bastion of fairness? Ask the bullied clinical staff at Centre of Excellence, Jabiru.
Its the same old story wherever we turn. Any direction. Same familiar names crop up over and again.
Perhaps we'll send in that invoice after all.
We are not scared of them. And if you are, send us your story and we'll see what we can do.
Because the more we expose them for what they are, the less likely it is that they will do it again.
until next time which will see a return to a long form story.
we have plenty of scandal to share with the people who matter most in this organisation; the clinicians.
